The magician asks a spectator to think of any of the 52 cards.
There is no force of ANY kind.
The choice is completely free.
Next, the magician shows four cards ...
Each card is printed with random numbers on their backs and random pips on their faces.
Each card has a mixture of pips and numbers front and back
The magician asks the spectator to stare at at the face of each card, and then the back of each one, concentrating on the pips and the numbers.
Say you can read the slightest clues in their eyes and body language as they focus on the cards. Ask them to focus on the value and suit of their though-of card, but try not to give it away... 'Can you see it clearly?... Can you see the suit?... Can you see the value?...'
Then, as the spectator focuses on their card,the magician is able to name the card they were only thinking of.
