Grave Mistake
Dick Stoner
A brilliant comedy routine that packs flat and plays big.
Always gets a laugh
Here's how the routine goes...
"Are you ever bothered by those cold callers on the telephone?"
"Last week a guy called me on the phone and wanted to talk about pre-planning my funeral! I couldn't believe it! I mean, I'm not afraid of dying, I just don't want to be there when it happens, you know what I mean?"
"Well, anyway, I started to get curious and so I let the guy make an appointment with me. He came over to my house and he had the whole program 'laid out' (so to speak). Here's what he told me...."
You show a large (25" wide by 38" tall) sheet showing a huge elaborate funeral casket with a fancy carved canopy with French velvet drapes...
"Now that is impressive. How much is that?" I said
"£60,000!" he repies.
"Wow! Have you got anything a little cheaper? "
With that he folds the top section of the sheet down, eliminating the carved canopy on top.
'No problem, we can eliminate the Austrian canopy and give you these beautiful French velvet drapes and the embossed casket for only £30,000.'
"Oh, it's still perhaps a bit too much. Do you have anything a little cheaper?"
"No problem" he said and again folds the sheet, also eliminating the velvet drapes.
"Look, I can eliminate the French velvet drapes and give you this gorgeous German embossed casket for just £7,000."
I said, "That's still just more than I want to spend." and with that makes one more fold in the sheet.
"I've got just just what you want." He says
You make the final fold, turn it around and the picture displays a large dustbin!
